Land development South West

Project Scope

On behalf of the Abbey South Landowner Group, Rise Urban has successfully led the project through the due diligence, rezoning, urban design, structure planning and subdivision approvals processes.

  • Due diligence advice
  • Scheme Amendment / Rezoning
  • Structure plan
  • Subdivision design and approval
  • 350 residential lots

Project Challenges

The project team had to produce a plan that addressed and responded to a number of site-specific challenges including retention of western ringtail possum habitat, protection of regional floodways, implications of sea level rise, and access to the regional road network including Bussell Highway and Caves Road. The project also had to address and overcome strong community opposition, and achieved this through a transparent approach, and a plan that responded to the unique local character of the Abbey area.

Testimonial

We engaged Rise Urban to progress the Abbey South development project from a planning investigation area through the Structure Planning and rezoning process. Led by Principal Cameron Leckey, Rise Urban assembled and coordinated a team of specialist consultants from all required disciplines to progress the project through the various hurdles.

The Rise Urban team’s professionalism, integrity and level of service is exemplary. They are results-driven and possess the rare combination of being detail-focused, though strategic thinkers with a thorough knowledge of the planning framework; and most importantly, the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully at all stakeholder levels to achieve the desired outcomes.
