Project Scope

Working with not-for-profit housing provider Identitywa, Rise Urban amended the planning framework to allow for Specialist Disability Accommodation to be delivered on surplus private school land in Greenwood.

  • Scheme Amendment / Rezoning
  • Development application
  • Specialist Disability Accommodation

Project Challenges

The existing zoning meant that an amendment to the City of Joondalup local planning scheme was necessary to introduce an Additional Use for the site before the development application could be approved. Despite some strong community opposition and the bespoke nature of the proposal, the scheme amendment was approved quickly and unanimously by the City and the State Government, ensuring a clear pathway for approval of the development application.
